2026 Annual General Meeting

The British Geomembrane Association has announced the election of its new officers, marking the start of another important chapter for the organisation as it continues its work supporting high standards and professional competence across the geomembrane and containment sector.

At the Association’s recent Annual General Meeting, members elected a new leadership team to guide the organisation through the coming year. The newly appointed officers are:

  • Dave Raw, elected as Chairman
  • Nathan Jackson, elected as Vice Chair
  • Simon Scott, elected as Secretary
  • Peter Atchison, elected as Treasurer.

As the newly elected Chairman, Dave Raw takes on the role at a pivotal time for the industry. With increasing emphasis on environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance across containment and lining systems, the geomembrane sector continues to evolve rapidly.

Dave begins his term with a full and demanding agenda, focused on ensuring that the Association remains at the forefront of technical leadership within the industry. A key priority for the year ahead will be continuing the Association’s work to improve skills, strengthen professional standards, and promote competence across all aspects of geomembrane installation. This commitment reflects the growing importance of robust installation practices, effective training, and industry-wide collaboration in maintaining the integrity of containment systems.

Under the guidance of the new officer team, the British Geomembrane Association will continue its mission to support best practice, professional development, technical excellence across the sector, and company accreditation.

The Association also took the opportunity to recognise the contribution of Peter Henderson, who steps down after serving as Chairman. His leadership and dedication have played an important role in supporting the work of the Association and the wider industry.

Members and colleagues across the sector extend their sincere thanks to Peter for his service and wish him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

With a new leadership team in place and a clear focus on advancing standards and competence, the year ahead promises to be a productive one for the British Geomembrane Association and the wider geomembrane community.
